Winner of the BBC Sound of 2012 Poll and fresh from a critically acclaimed performance at SXSW, Michael Kiwanuka is one artist you don’t want to miss this Splendour. Crediting the likes of Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding, Bob Dylan and Paul Simon as inspiration, few artists make such an instant impression as this man. His debut album ‘Home Again’ is set to make the liquid-voiced singer an international name and touch its listeners in the same way as his favourite records inspired Michael Kiwanuka himself. Ben Howard is a young acoustic troubadour who amassed a secret society of fans via the UK’s fiercely loyal surfing community. He was hand-picked by members of Mumford and Sons for the Communion label and the word quickly spread. Ben will be showcasing his self-reflective debut album ‘Every Kingdom’ at this show. Boy & Bear’s Tim Hart will also fill out this line-up to perform his stunning solo material.
