Additional details

Tour name: Mostly Mozart

This unusual event is an ambulatory concert, a musical tour of the spacious ground floor of the Park Avenue Armory, opening with the world premiere of Marcos Balter’s Passará, followed by works by Messiaen, Jonathan Harvey, and John Cage.

An ICE commission by Suzanne Farrin, written especially for the Armory’s rooms, accompanies the audience’s migration. George Lewis’s work uses the players’ musical instincts to create an evolving collage of sound. Birds return to close the evening in Kaija Saariaho’s colorful Terrestre.

Purchase tickets to this event and view Janet Cardiff and George Bures Miller’s compelling sound installation, The Murder of Crows, for free after the performance.
There is no late seating.
