Ben Frost, a musician, composer and producer born in Australia, now based in Reykjavík, Iceland is finishing a new full length record. It will come out next year and will complete „trilogy“ consisting of Theory of Machines (2007) and By the Throat (2009). Meanwhile, Frost – alongside with Daníel Bjarnason and Sinfonietta Cracovia – preformed and later released on Bedroom Community immense, elegiac space music based on Andrei Tarkovsky’s movie Sólaris, and a piece Music for 6 Guitars, both under the project Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative, where he was selected as a protégé by Brian Eno. Recently, he contributed on new Swans’ record, The Seer.
Ben Frost is recognized for his experimental music drawing on influences of minimalism, post-punk, black metal and noise, and widely known for his intense live performances. Finally, after five years, Ben Frost is coming back to Prague with his new album – he will appear on 22nd October at MeetFactory (Ke Sklárně 3213/15 150 00 Praha 5).
