Tour name: Communion CMJ Showcase

FREE Show! No tickets, badge or RSVP needed.

Opening the evening is Matt Hegarty from Matthew & the Atlas - a man who has toured regularly with bands such as The Civil Wars and Mumford & Sons, and has grown a cult following of his own in North America over the past 12 months. Selected as the sole representative of British songwriting talent by Communion for the showcase. Hailing from Wisconsin, but now darlings of Nashville, Foreign Fields will then take the stage. This is a band that have gained huge traction in 2012 following the release of their debut album, "Anywhere but where I am" - "a secret gem of an album" (FAKE DIY). Playing third out of five, is one of Columbia Records latest signings, a fantastic band from Charlotte, NC- folk/indie rockers, Matrimony.

Rapper Kool A.D. is bringing his "intelligent stream of consciousness" (PITCHFORK) infusion of big beats and drop slang to turn up the dial on the evening. One of the most creative and inspiring rappers of his generation, everyone is anticipating a big 2013 for this artist. Headlining the evening is a band whom everyone who doesn't live under a rock would've heard of by now, the incomparable Deap Vally from LA. This dangerous, dirt rock, duo are ruffling many feathers and are the latest signing to the Communion/Island partnership in the UK. Off to support The Vaccines following on their European tour following CMJ, these girls have been described as "Impossible not to love" (THE GUARDIAN), "unapologetic mayhem" (NME) and have been adorned with Radio 1's Zane Lowe's Hottest track in the world. Album due early 2013, so this is a chance to see these girls still at their most primal, embryonic stage.
