ACL Live and the Pachanga Latino Music Festival, the Latin-themed music, cultural arts and food festival, have created a co-branded Latin music series to be held at ACL Live throughout 2013 starting with East Los Angeles legends Los Lobos supported by Los Texmaniacs. The series will give ACL Live a singular platform to present a wide variety of Latin genres and artists under the Pachanga brand much like the way the two-day Festival is programmed.
“It’s always been a goal that ACL-Live represent the very finest of all genres of music and together with the Pachanga Brand will we deliver the best of Latin.” Colleen Fischer –General Manager/Director of Booking, ACL Live.
More than three decades have passed since the Grammy Award-Winning American Chicano rock band, Los Lobos, released their debut album, Just Another Band from East L.A. Since then they’ve repeatedly disproven that title - Los Lobos isn’t “just another” anything, but rather a band that has consistently evolved artistically while never losing sight of their humble roots. Los Lobos is a band that continually redefines itself and expands its scope with each passing year, while never losing sight of where they came from. Their influence is vast, yet they remain humble, centered and dedicated to their craft.
San Antonio, Laredo, El Paso, Corpus Christi, Seguín, and other Texas towns inspired Texas Towns & Tex-Mex Sounds, the second Smithsonian Folkways Recordings release by the GRAMMY-winning “Conjunto Duro” group Los Texmaniacs. The band expands upon traditional polkas, boleros, ballads, and Western swing, to signal their creative and social relevance as ambassadors of Tex-Mex culture to the world.
