On Nancy Wallace:
Nancy Wallace sings and plays with The Memory Band and more recently, The Owl Service. Her first solo release was the wonderful Young Hearts EP from 2005, a sublime collection of disco classics set to simple folk arrangements that won the hearts of everybody lucky enough to hear it. Following two albums of effortless modern folk classics with The Memory Band, Nancy is now finally ready to unleash her debut solo album. Old Stories has a charming simplicity and astounding beauty, unique interpretations of traditional British songs sit happily alongside Nancy's own compositions with a flow so seamless you forget which is which. Old Stories will be released by Midwich Records in September 2008 and Nancy will be playing several live shows in support of the album.
On Stephen Cracknell:
Stephen is a composer, producer and arranger, he release computer music as Gorodisch, leads The Memory Band and make up a quarter of a new band called The Accidental. He has composed music for film and television, was a founder member of Trunk Records and ran the Hungry Hill label in conjunction with Spinney Records. From time to time he's been known to perform with others artists playing guitar, bass and whatever comes to hand. He's interested in British chalk figures, history of all kinds, travel beyond the termination shock, incidental music, cycling, mediterranean food, carpentry, trains, needlepoint and horticulture.
