American singer-songwriter Ray LaMontagne returns to the Hall this September, as part of his autumn tour following the release of his highly anticipated third album Gossip in the Grain.
LaMontagne's 2004 debut, Trouble, became one of that year's most acclaimed debuts, spawning an instant classic single in the album's title track. LaMontagne returned two years later with the stunning Till The Sun Turns Black, a deeply personal work haunted by a complex and compelling melancholy. The album received plaudits on both sides of the Atlantic, including a four-star review from Q, which described Till The Sun Turns Black as a 'mesmerising, beautiful record'.
Gossip in the Rain proves to be LaMontagne's most creative and emotionally expansive collection to date. Whereas his two previous albums were largely solo affairs, Gossip in the Grain sees him joined by members of his touring band.
