"I have never seen Foals before or paid that much attention to them, probably like everyone else I had a passing sing a long to Cassius but did always feel I would need to see them live before making a full judgement on them. I had not looked forward to the gig all day, as the previous offering of Young Knives had been a little hit and miss but upon walking into the venue I knew tonight would be different and immediately felt at ease, relaxed and eager for the band to make an appearance. I missed Wet Paint but from what I heard from others I hadn't missed much. Two Door Cinema Club, I did really enjoy, they aren't quite their yet but their potential is obvious. So next up was Foals, somehow I had managed to get squeezed in right next to the bass speaker behind the steps leading to the stage, tonight had without a doubt sold out and the place was heaving. A strange man wearing a silver pvc gimp suit with purple sparkling lips sprung onto the stage and promptly nearly fell into the crowd when he tried to climb an amp. I soon learned this was the lead singer and the crowd went nuts. They played their hits, some I had even heard of, the energy they put into their performance was matched by an eager hungry crowd. The sound was excellent (even next to the bass speaker) and they did indeed win me over. Yannis jumped into the crowd at one point and I think it was then I decided this was a band I could come round to loving. Top show, amazing crowd and fantastic sound all made this a gig to remember."
