Band were super tight, probably the best of the three times I've seen them. And having seen the movie, and heard from friends how bad the sound was when they last played Brixton Academy, I was pleased with how together they were, and how good the sound was.

Black Francis and Joey didn't say anything the whole gig, Kim did a bit of talking, mostly bantering with people about the setlist, e.g. "do you know what's coming next, or do you always listen on random?".

Started off a bit slow (in terms of audience reaction) with the b-sides getting a decent response but that's all. Once Debaser kicked in they had the whole crowd behind them, lots of singing along (Hey stands out). My only slight disappointment was only getting 3 songs in the second encore; I was expecting/hoping for more like 5 or 6 (maybe In Heaven or Caribou). Not much else to say: one of the greatest albums ever, played well to an appreciative audience. You can't really ask for more than that. It would be in, or close, to my top ten shows of all time.

In support, The Big Pink disappointed me at first, their sound was rubbish (e.g. during Dominoes) but they improved and the last couple of tracks were pretty good.

Cool, I'm going tonight too, nothing too much too report, band were in good spirits, they opened with a screening of the film 'Un chien Andalou' which was the inspiration for the Debaser lyrics.

Judging from the sets on the tour so far, the main bulk seems to be the same with Doolittle played in full and in order and the b-sides from the era played too, then for the second encore its a toss up of various other songs, we got 3 last night, Glasgow got 8 the night before, hoping for something different tonight.
