Shameless self promotion in adding my own review, but hey.

Thought the concert was pretty good, but annoyed that they didn't play some songs like "Marla" which would have been brilliant with an orchestra. I've also nicked some photos from this site, so let me know if you want me to remove.

Matus - I agree with you about the band/orchestra disconnection. I also saw the Efterklang gig earlier in the week and that was amazing with band and orchestra in total harmony.

  Thank you. Because it seemed like I'm the only one in the hall who didn't think it was amazing. Maybe you know, Efterklang released an album with The Danish National Chamber Orchestra - Performing Parades. Sounds pretty much like their performance with Britten Orchestra!

I was quite disappointed. Not only the climaxes of the songs missed their power, the performance had almost none emotional impact on me. The band and LSO seemed very detached from each other, it didnt work well together. Or maybe I just had too high expectations after incredibly powerful Matthew Herbert big band and Efterklang with Britten Orchestra performances earlier this week.

  I kind of agree, felt like it was missing something... The performance of Ready, Able on letterman with the string quartet was much better - expected to be blown away by the whole orchestra! Maybe it was the arrangements?!

  I just called the box office and they didn't have specific times but they said "its sarts at 8, there will be an interval after 40 minutes and it will finish at 10:15". So based on that I would say St.Vincent at 8pm and Grizzly Bear at 9pm but please don't hold me to that!!!

    Yeah I had the same conversation and came to the same conclusion. Apparently these orchestra types are pretty punctual too, so it sounds like it won't be a case of 9, going on 10.
    
    Next question: where's the awesome impromptu acoustic aftershow going to happen??!
