Have I missed something? It seemed strange I hadn’t heard of Sia until last week. After all, we both come from Adelaide which is hardly a mammoth place. I’m obviously the minority; after all, the blonde Australian songstress sold out her recent Koko gig. The fans crammed into the venue were a mixed bunch; young, old, gay, straight, Australian, English – you name it. Free booze flowed for industry people on the top level, but the real fun was had by the swaying mass with a close up view. The lass shot to international fame when ‘Breathe Me’ was featured on US television series ‘Six Feet Under’. My real education however, came when the pretty young thing opened her mouth. As the band stood amongst a sea of old stuffed toys and large neon flowers, they filled the venue with magic. Tunes from her new album ’Some People Have Real Problems’ featured heavily with 'Breathe Me' the predictable stand-out moment. Hell, I've never seen the TV show and even I nearly bawled. Adelaide, stand proud.
