"There was some speculation this gig wouldnt happen, Paloma has been suffering with a cold for over a week and had lost her voice forcing her out of a TV performance, a throat specialist advised against doing the show but she decided to go ahead regardless.
Josh Weller was up first, again someone I felt I should have enjoyed, had the talent and the songs but I was bored and daydreamed his set away. Not for me, the impression I was left with was someone trying to be different in a very generic way.
Paloma Faith however has it, whatever that 'it' is she has it. A true performer, clearly loves being on the stage and has the voice to back it up. Speaking in a very girlish squeaky way to protect her singing voice she cajoled a Monday night London crowd into a very loud appreciative audience. With only one album she had a short set but filled with dress art and Christmas. She performed her recent live lounge and split the audience in two for a dance off involving bobbing up and down side against side for a Christmas duet with Josh. Her voice held out and managed to out sing the crowd for New York New York.
An artist I would really love to see with a few more albums under her belt."
