TRASH AESTHETICS PRESENTS: THE TAILORS - COME DIG ME UP ALBUM LAUNCH PARTY
An Album Release Party for THE TAILORS smashing new album COME DIG ME UP on the small but mighty Trash Aesthetics label (who have brought us singles from Richmond Fontaine, Tilly & the Wall, Mi Mye). 'Come Dig Me Up' comprises nine optimistic tales about love, hope and troubled dinosaurs, soaked in power-pop goodness. Paul Westerberg, Teenage Fanclub, Big Star and Apples In Stereo are all realistic touchstones - listen for yourself on the Heavenly Jukebox upstairs.
We are very proud to announce our SPECIAL GUESTS for the night will be:-
LISSIE Originally from the Land of Lincoln Illinois, Lissie Maurus arrives with a superb debut EP Why You Runnin’ produced by friend Bill Reynolds from Band of Horses and released on Fat Possum under her belt. "The record is stacked with the kind of billowing and rustic sentiments that come from broken hearts that have been patched as well as they can be, gaining that scar tissue that never makes them like new again, but gives them a refined personality, one that’s subtle and powerful all in one fling. Lissie has all kinds of love in her heart and it comes out in resplendent and oaky waves, like the insides of a campfire doing a lot of talking, a lot of jumping – leaving its smoke burrowing into your skin and clothing, where it reclines for days" - Daytrotter http://www.myspace.com/lissiemusic
CAITLIN ROSE (Theory 8) Nashville's Caitlin Rose tells stories of an evolving country. She speaks in a new generation of American twang and "Im-a-gonnas" about another generation of young American alcoholics falling in love at backyard weddings. The stories are old themes voiced with a new ease and energetic pace. They're fearlessly grainy in the same way that the black and white photographs of the 1970s differ from those in the 1950s. In the way that writing about evolution is no longer about getting richer, sleeker, or more efficient. Hers are evolutionary stories in surprising but truthful directions, where sometimes dead flowers mean so much more than live ones. It's the sound of a future grown out of the past, but not out of its expectations. -Kyle Pfister http://www.myspace.com/caitlinrosesongs
THE OLD FAMILIAR is Jon Bunyan’s private musical empire, having made waves on the Vancouver music scene, writing songs for Bend Sinister, composing soundtracks, and racking up several North American tours and awards from CBC and Much Music. After recording his debut full-length album, Bunyan toured Western Canada before relocating to London. http://www.myspace.com/theoldfamiliar
