Was a great gig - GA, JZ and CP all stormed it in my opinion, only downer was the final CP tune - they should have let us leave on a bit anthem, instead we all left singing a song from earlier in the night.
Good, but you should always leave the audience on a high wanting more!

Stadium gigs always have a tendency to be a little impersonal. Going into one of 20 something entrances, buying a beer in one of a similar number of bars and heading in to listen to the artist on the night perform to you and 90,000 others.
I'm sorry to say that I thought that Coldplay were no exception to this rule. When you're one of the biggest pop bands on the planet though where else can you play?

I was bought tickets to the gig as a gift. I've never been a massive Coldplay fan (although looking at my Last.fm stats tells me otherwise) so hadn't seen them live before.

I missed White Lies sadly. Kicking off at 4 on a Friday afternoon it looks like others didn't see their set either.
Girls Aloud seemed to please the crowd - most were still arriving so there wasn't too many people around. Soon after they left - not as a direct result - but the numbers really started to arrive. We decided to move forward closer to the stage for Jay-Z and I have to say we were really impressed with his set. The man had a personality and air of cool big enough to hold the stadium and some. The songs were great, the new single Empire State of Mind was fantastic - played against a huge back drop of a New York skyline. Very disappointed to have missed him at the Roundhouse earlier in the week.

Finally the main act, Coldplay came out to a fully revved crowd and played their set. Hit after hit, singalong after singalong. It all rolled into one a little for me though. Maybe because it was Friday night and I'd just seen the biggest hip-hop act of the moment I was left feeling a bit unfulfilled on this one.

    Hi there

I was there both days and had a ball from start to finish.

I was really excited to learn that White Lies were kicking off as I love them, and they were great both days - it helps if you know the songs; I didn't thing lead singer, Harry's voice faltered at all and I'm always impressed as to how he keeps his amazing voice going.

I also really like Girls Aloud and was totally entertained watching them and didn't think that the songs sounded poor - in fact, I sometimes wondered if some of it was mimed. Either way, it was fun to watch the girls do their solo bits and it confirmed my view that Nicola has the best voice, and that Sarah is a real showgirl!

Like Dodger00, JayZ is not my cup of tea BUT what a set! To me, the best 2 songs were the one about New York with an amazing female singer, and then the last song.

And then Coldplay came on - both nights were beyond exceptional, from start to finish. Chris and the boys were in their element - each song as good as the one before. Chris is so entertaining that he brought himself and the band completely close to us all, in spite of the size of the stadium. Billie Jean was beautifully executed and, if I wasn't about to dash off to work, I'd like to comment on each song. Maybe another time. Suffice it to say that I'm sad that it's all over. Apparently there was a programme about them on the Southbank Show - catch-up TV for those of us who missed it. And, having mentioned Harry from White Lies voice, Chris's voice was on TOP FORM - his range is amazing and I've been playing the albums ever since!!

White Lies kicked things off exceptionally well. Fantastic sound quality, occasional shakiness in lead singers vocals, terrific setlist. Left me wanting more.
Was looking forward to Girls Aloud but rapidly became disappointed and ended up looking forward to the end. Poor vocals and terrible balance between vocals and instruments.
I didn't have any previous knowledge of jay-Z at all but what great entertainment. The music just isn't my cup of tea but I enjoyed his set immensely. What a stage presence.
This was my first time seeing Coldplay. It was thoroughly entertaining. Really enjoyed the entrance before Life in Technicolor. Had all the crowd swaying and clapping to "The Blue Danube Waltz" and on the very last clap the stage lit up and the first chords of Life in Technicolor rang out. Spine tingling. Yellow was great. Fix You was awesome. No wonder they have such a huge following and sold so many albums.
Even getting lost after the gig didn't dampen the spirits.

Coldplay were amazing. Massive singalongs for a massive venue. Got there late so only saw a bit of Jay-Z, still very good. However did check out girls aloud on youtube and that was pretty shocking. No idea why they were on the list. (personally think White lies should have been a bigger part rather than the first act up)

A lot of people slate stadium shows as being impersonal, which I totally understand, but for me, there's something special about singing along to a song you love with 150,000 people who love it just as much - in front of the man who wrote it.

Girls Aloud were sweetness and love and seemed to have a genuine humility in front of a crowd that were clearly there to see someone else. Really fun set and turns out I know more of their songs than I thought I did.

Jay-Z was mind-blowing - he has a smooth, slick style that says 'I know I'm the s**t, YOU know I'm the s**t - let's just enjoy it'. Phenomenal performance - I just wish I had been at the Roundhouse the night before with a crowd who were there just for him.

Coldplay were as great as expected. Their first Wembley Stadium show, they were like a bunch of kids in a playground - running around, joking with their mates and so so so happy to be there. Heartfelt and warm performance - the mid-crowd rendition of Jacko's "Billie Jean" was excellent. I just wish they had played (any of) my three favourite songs.

    It was excellent.

P.s. I didn't see much of White Lies, so no feature.
