What an incredible voice. It is a testament to the captivating songs and on-stage charisma of The Tallest Man On Earth that the gig was not tarnished by either the annoying group of guys who sang at the top of their lungs along with every song, or the one tall guy with huge hair that progressively wedged himself more and more in my line of sight.

Standing in the midst of a sold out show, I found it hard to believe that he's never been to London before. Everyone there had clearly been waiting a long time for him to come, as evidenced by the sheer energy and rapture of the crowd. I can't recommend him enough to those going to End Of The Road Festival this weekend (he's on Sunday at 1:45pm), especially since who knows when he'll be back in town again.

More than anything, he just seemed to be having a lot of fun on stage. His voice, impressive in recorded form, was even more so live -- nuanced, playful, incredibly strong and moving. He joked around with the crowd, even acknowledging the irony of his name when one of the loud-singing-guys had the nerve to shout "you're not tall!" at him.

I wish I could relive the gig all over again, such a great, intimate venue for it. I had the distinct feeling throughout the night that this is a performance I will remember for years to come, and I will certainly be seeing him again whenever he's in my vicinity.

    Does anyone have the setlist?

so, this guy has never been to the UK before. he sells out his first show. the crowd sing along to every song. yet he has NO UK deal, and no UK distro. even though he's from sweden, pretty much the only way you can get his album for a reasonable price is from amazon on australian import.

    absolute madness.

the show was, as expected - totally sublime. the guy is utterly incredible. i've been a fan since his first EP and waited and waited and waited for him to come over. i even tried to book him myself late last year.

predicting that come the end of 2010, he'll be selling out shepherds bush empire.

Darn, I can't make this concert now for sure. I have 2 tickets I can reallocate (via wegottickets) for face value (£13 for the pair) if anyone is interested. Should be an awesome concert, can't believe I can't make it!

They sure are! I got them through We Got Tickets so they're e-tickets that I can reallocate into your name. How do you want to sort out the monies? This concert is going to be pretty special, bummed I can't make it :(
