NLFB is Canada's longest running outdoor music festival and celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2011. The festival attracts anywhere between 10,000 and 15,000 people per year. Over the years NLFB has grown from a one day event called the ‘Northern Lights Folk Festival’ into a seasoned presenter of roots and modern music. The modern NLFB experience can be described as: ‘a roots music festival that loves modern music,’ or ‘a modern music festival that’s in love with its roots.’
