With a killer line-up of international and local acts, the Big Wig
Music Festival is set to take revellers to a stunning kaleidoscopic
soundscape. Premièring soon at the Fort Canning Park, the inaugural
festival is a celebration of musical diversity that’s set to put
Singapore on the international music map.
Chill to the beat of some of the biggest names in the industry,
together with a spectacular mix of solo artists and bands.
Featuring headliner Pharoahe Monch, an internationally acclaimed rap
artist who since his “Who Stole my Last Piece of Chicken” days has
released a string of notable albums brimming with concept and
expression. Monch’s unique combination of rapid fire staccato,
delivered with melodic ease and internal rhyme schemes has pushed him
to the forefront of his contemporaries, solidifying him as an emcee of
the highest order. Today, under the flag of his newly created company
W.A.R. Media in partnership with Duck Down Music, he’s set to wage war
and connect to hip hop on a primal level.
Other international acts include The Bizarre Ride live with Pharcyde,
Four Dub featuring Akil the MC of Jurassic 5 and Hydro Phonics,
Chrom3, Deejay Theory, Captain Planet, and The Cuban Brothers.
Singapore acts which you all know and love are Wicked Aura, Kevin Lester
with DJ Koflow, and Pushin'On. Recognized purveyors of the good
groove, the Pushin’On crew have developed a fierce reputation over the
last 7 years for always bringing the party to the dance floor. With a
constantly evolving sound and tours of Europe and Asia under their
belts, the boys have been forging a name for themselves on the
international scene through performances with the likes of Jazzy Jay,
Marc Hype, Sarah Love and World DJ Champion DJ Vajra.
Come celebrate the one day only event at Fort Canning Park on the 6th
of April. Tickets available at SISTIC and via PayPal.
