On Saturday, August 24th and Sunday, August 25th the 2nd Annual Chicago Westside Music Festival will take place at Douglas Park located at 1401 S. Sacramento Drive (Corner of Ogden and Sacramento). Media personality and radio show host Monique Spence will host the free festival created to fill the void of cultural programming on the greater Westside.
This year’s line up includes Grammy-nominated and BET Award winner Raheem DeVaughn (headliner), Bachata masters La Obra, and singer/song writer/pianist Avery*Sunshine. Sunday is designated “Family Day” and will be full of fun activities and Back to School giveaways. “Family Day” is presented in partnership with State Representative Art Turner Jr. and Alderman Michael Chandler.
Friday, August 23rd | 6pm
VIP Reception and Meet and Greet - Invitation only. There will be chances for Chicago Westside Music Festival social media followers to win passes.
Saturday, August 24th | 12pm - 8pm
Performances from Raheem DeVaughn, Avery*Sunshine, and La Obra and other local acts. Throughout the day there will be food vendors, local business booths and more.
Sunday, August 25th | 12pm - 4pm
Back to School Family Day with State Representative Art Turner Jr. and Alderman Michael Chandler. There will be interactive activities for kids of all ages, along with Back to School giveaways for students.
