   "After the initial thrill of seeing the legend himself in the flesh came the comedown - Berry seemed to be on auto-pilot with little animation in his vocals and his guitar sounding like mud.. but was it all a trick, a sort of reverse showmanship???
   ...because suddenly in mid-set just as the applause was audibly fading with each lacklustre number he cranked up the treble on his amp and got into his duckwalk and was like a different man - by the end of the show he'd encouraged a stage invasion of kids and had the whole place in an uproar - job done, rock 'n' roll myth intact -just!!! :)"

   "Hi Michelle, I guess I wasn't imagining 30 plus years ahead at the time, it was all very of the moment and tomorrow could seem a million miles away.The Clash were very special, that was clear there and then, but they were also very approachable, Mick especially.The world of arena shows and stadiums was still around the corner, top bands played the 2,000 capacity halls rather than souless barns like the NEC.. I'm sure that somebody now is doing the stuff that will amaze future generations but I'm not sure who but maybe that's my age lol!"

   "I was on the front row who for some reason sat on their hands - rows behind were quite rightly up on their feet - I was the only one to get up on my dead row and rock out to the intro of 'Barracuda" and was rewarded by a Gibson SG weilding Nancy Wilson coming up and sticking her tongue out at me.. how rock 'n' roll was that?!"
