The Electric Ballroom is a music venue located on the Camden High Street, just a minute from Camden Underground Station. The venue is predominantly a rock club, welcoming artists such as U2, The Clash and Public Enemy to the stage.

The club was renovated and opened by Bill Fuller in 1938, an entrepreneur who already owned a series of Ballrooms across Britain, Ireland and the United States. Previously known as The Carousel, the venue became The Electric Ballroom in 1978.

    Not the most charismatic venue ever, but I've never been to a bad gig there. Best to get near the front though.

    As a photographer I would rate it 5 stars, it's an absolute joy to take photos of bands under such great lights and with smoke. But as a music fan, I'm really not into the venue. It's pretty big and when I was at the back it was really hard to get any closer, so it was super frustrating as everybody was chatting and I couldn't see a thing, plus the sound was really murky. When I was at the front at a different gig it wasn't so bad as I could see and hear, but I much prefer intimate venues to venues like this.

      Come on... Electric ballroom is not "big" It starts to be big when you enter roundhouse... (roundhouse has a great acoustic btw)
