    interesting venue this. stuck in the heart of slum-town hanley (ie the city centre of stoke-on-trent) this venue used to have SO many shows on.

    think after a while, bookers and promoters just cottoned onto the fact that stoke, in general is a vile place and avoided the whole city when booking tours. this venue however is really lovely - apparently (my dad told me this, so it HAS to be true) the victoria hall's only rival in acoustic perfection is the royal albert hall... ie, there's no better place in the north of england to hear classical music.

    this is also the first venue i discovered the 'mosh pit' - aged 17.
