Bristol's Thekla is a music venue, bar and restaurant on board what was formerly known as The Old Profanity Showboat. The bar and kitchen is open each day from noon, with gigs mostly starting around 7.30pm. The boat has three levels, with seating areas and a cloakroom. Shows at the Thekla are mostly 18+ only.

The boat itself was built in 1959 in Germany and operated as a working boat for more than two decades, transporting timber around the Baltic Sea. The boat was converted into a showboat in the 1980s, hosting comedy and art events. The ship was taken over in the 90s and has since been used to host live music events.
