The Ryman Auditorium is a 2,362 seat concert hall in Nashville, Tennessee. The venue was first opened in 1982 as the Union Gospel Tabernacle. It was founded by Thomas Ryman, and after his death in 1904, the venue was renamed in his honor. The venue spent three years from 1911 as home to Trevecca Nazarene University, and then went on to host the Grand Old Opry from 1943-1974. In 2001 the Ryman was designated as a National Historic Landmark. Artists from Bob Dylan to Wilco have taken to the stage.
