It’s safe to say that April Wine has had its share of success as well as heartache. Having survived through the 70s and beginning of the 80s, as well as the loss of majority of its starting members, the band is still highly respectable to continuing to do what they love most, as well as give their fans what they want the most. With only the Myles Goodwyn and Brian Greenway from the original band (Jim Henman and David Henman opted not to continue I guess), they have been joined with Richard Lanthier and Roy Nichol to continue on playing the music that so many people love.
Much of the crowds that they draw now have been long time fans, but there are the occasional child of a well established fan that is spread out sporadically among the crowd. A majority of the set are the songs that made them famous, including “Bad Side Of The Moon,” “ I wouldn’t Want To Lose Your Love,” “You Won’t Dance With Me” and even their cover of “You Could Have Been A Lady.” Because the crowd knows the band so well, many people are singing a long with the band making for a fun and enjoyable time.
I had been waiting a long time to see April Wine and was really looking forward to the concert. Myles voice is still amazing but the attitiude he should have left in Montreal..it was short, missed alot of great hits. Mind you tickets were only $42 and we got what we paid for I guess. Would not go see them again. We do between 10-15 concerts a year so we know a good one when we hear it.
AMAZING !!!!!! I am from Brazil (living in Canada since 2009) and it was my first time seeing April Wine live (big fan here. I have the full discography). I was impressed. Such chemistry they have. For who thinks they have only "Between You And Me", go to the next show and get mesmerized.
Fantastic show at Foam Henge. Sounded outstanding. Wish their set would’ve been longer. I’ve always been an April Wine fan since back in the 80’s and they didn’t disappoint. Godwin’s voice is as strong as I remember from years ago. Would definitely go see them again.
Truly the most underrated band of all time. The only thing i wish is that i could go to watch them as a headliner. Everyone in that audience wanted them to play longer.
PLEASE COME BACK!!!!!
