Herman van Veen

Herman van Veen is a man of many talents. The Dutch artist is considered to be an author, musician, singer/songwriter, and actor. He was the mastermind behind the eccentric cartoon series Alfred J. Kwak for which he also composed the music and voiced some of the characters. Having such a diverse, creative background makes his live musical performances highly entertaining as he approaches his show from all angles.
Herman van Veen’s performances are geared for a family audience. They are presented with quirky stage theatrics and ornate instrumentation. His music has an upbeat pop element that also contains baroque qualities to it. His backing band is all dressed in matching black attire while Herman van Veen stands at the forefront of the stage usually wearing some unique piece of attire that distinguishes himself in a different manner. At one of his concert he wore a large red scarf that appropriately fit with his personality.
His backing musicians are very talented and play a diverse range of instruments ranging from violin, piano, tuba, harp, classical guitar and drums. The backing musicians also participate in group chorus singing as well as choreographed dances that add a great depth to the performance. Herman van Veen often sings with a clear voice and constantly uses rhythmic style with rhyming words. He is also a talented violinist and will engage in a violin duet with a backing musician on stage during his performances.
Herman van Veen is a very chatty performer who loves to engage with the audience with banter. He often is very fond of stage antics. During one performance he started to dump water on his audience. He also has several preplanned jokes that he performs during his shows. One time he had his backing band stack a bunch of top hats on his head when he was performing a complicated violin solo. Herman van Veen is a talented entertainer who knows how to engage his audience through different mediums, and his performances clearly convey his immense amount of musical talent and his great sense of humor.
