The lights were out and the anticipation of the crowd was intense, with people cheering and screaming for Shaman’s Harvest to begin their set. As the blue wash covered the stage, Joe Harrington was revealed centre stage on his drum kit and counted in the band with a ‘one, two, three, four’, and they all ran on stage and launched into an epic instrumental track. They each played a instrumental solo during the opening track, and Nathan Hunt, the lead singer, took time shouting out words of welcome to the audience, and getting everyone excited for the show.
Although they’ve been through a few line up changes over the years, the band are still as strong as ever, and if anything, the new life in their group has refreshed their sound. They played a really great selection of tracks, from March Of The Bastards, way back in 2006, right up to their brand new release, Dangerous. From start to finish, the energy was incredibly high, and they were great at getting the audience singing and dancing along with them. When they played Dragonfly, on the chorus, Nathan held out the microphone to the crowd and let us all sing the chorus a cappella which was incredible.
They were great as expected but the vocals at times was drowned out. It also being a Monday show they maybe held back for the remainder of the week. Of the 4 bands that played I really enjoyed the headliner Shamans Harvest and their opener Unknown Brothers.
