Rahsaan Patterson first found fame as part of the cast of popular 80s comedy Kids Incorporated. Fast forward a couple of decades and 'The Kid' has matured into a slick R & B/soul singer who has pulled lofty comparisons to the likes of Stevie Wonder and Chaka Khan. He has been releasing albums consistently since his self titled debut in 1997 and although he is not a major touring artist, his fanbase continuously sell out the shows whenever he comes to town.
He has an unteachable mannerism onstage which is just indescribably smooth as he charms the room as one and has them like putty in his band. Working through a setlist laced with hits, the responsive crowd cheer, sing and applaud in all the right places under the expert command of Patterson. There is no doubt he has saved his A game for the finale as his talented live band begin the introductions to the funky 'Feels Good' before they quickly follow up with 'Treat You Like a Queen' which doesn't appear to have aged all these years later.
My husband and I celebrated our 8 year wedding anniversary by taking a trip to see Rahsaan Patterson perform and the show was absolutely amazing! He sings so effortlessly and his performance was flawless. Everything was perfect except the table next to us that talked and laughed loud like they were at a bar drinking with their friends instead of listening to a performance. The women were loud and obnoxious and thankfully it wasn’t so bad after someone complained, but then one of the ladies started trying to justify why she could be loud while she tried to intimidate the staffer that told her to be quiet. City Winery should have a policy on that, but despite that minor interruption, we will definitely be back because we enjoy the shows.
Hey, SK Fam.
As usual Rahsaan did not let us down. This man's vocal talent and range is "STILL AMAZING" His fan base is still just as strong sold out shows.
From his debut album/cd released in 1997 (21 years ago) to now! People still request/demand to hear their favorites
He sounds the same from his debut era. His background singers were on point too! The band members were great! But his drummer was the hype!
The only thing left to say about Rahsaan is, if you've heard any of his music, You may want to experience one of his performances. It's worth every penny.
Well I hope this gives you a view of my evening...thanks for reading
Hey Everyone!
This man is INCREDIBLE! on vocals, My friends and I have seen him many times, and when we learn he's in concert within our driving range,
We are there front and center! He is true to his talents and very well gifted in his vocal range. When he has a few friends step on stage with him, such as Lalah Hathaway and more it's a night you don't want to end. It's like going to a private jam session. Although I feel he has never got his proper ranks, in the commercial radio world, his fan base is always loyal to him. If you want to hear some real music and singing skills go see "RP" you won't be disappointed.
Rahsaan and crew did it again! To say that I left this show on a musical high is an understatement. From the songs he put into the set list to the tight harmonies and grooves of the band; Mr. Rahsaan Patterson put on one hell of a show. He joked and laughed with the audience as he spent the night singing our souls. If you want to hear some good vocals and know that you are really in the presence of a vocalist, you betta check Mr. Rahsaan "The Truth" Patterson out. Tell him I sent ya... :)
Hi viewers. I'm a huge fan of RP. My friends and follow him mostly in the CA area every time he's in the area. No matter how many times we see this man, he never cease to amaze us. His talent and vocals are truly as his website.
" Not of this World
Incredible!!! He sings from the heart.
You feel the music from the soul. It's amazing to hear him sing and take his songs and vocals to a place of his own.
If you want to hear really good live music. Check RP out. You won't be disappointed.
I live in the Washington DC area and I go to see him every time he comes close to this area. I have been going to see him for almost 10 years now. His voice is Indescribable I get chills from his voice just magnificent. I've never heard anyone sing like him and reach those octaves as he does crisp and clear! If you haven't seen him live yet you need to go see him you don't know what you're missing!

He was good. He put me in the mind of Raphael Sadiiq. He had great vocals that I didnt know he had just from listening to his recorded music. I was impressed by his performance. The only thing I didn't like was him saying "thank y'all for clapping and shit" ummm thank u for showing up and singing and shit...like really? Anyway, good performance.
