I went to both Whitehorse shows in Saskatoon, and I still can't quite believe that two people can generate enough sound and energy to seem like a full band! The best concerts are the ones where you feel like it's just you and the audience and the band and the music, and that was my experience during both Whitehorse shows.
Luke Doucet is a gifted guitar player; Melissa McClelland could have probably made a career of singing pop ballads with her lovely voice, but she has enough grit she can belt out "Passenger 24" too. Their playing was always tight and professional, even when they were switching instruments two or three times during a song. It was a treat to see Whitehorse twice, and I hope they come back to Saskatoon soon.
Whitehorse was absolutely amazing (no surprise there). There were a couple moments where it seemed the sound was bugging, but I think it was more an issue of the venue than the band itself. Their energy was great, and I am so happy I got to see them
