As half of one of the most influential, original rap duos in hip hop history, Andre 3000 has made an indelible mark on pop culture. Coming from OutKast with fellow Atlanta, Georgia native Big Boi when they were still high school students in the early Nineties, the group developed in to one that allowed them to conquer the world not only as a pair on albums like the immaculate ‘Stankonia,’ but as solo artists with the double release of ‘The Love Below/Speakerboxxx’ in 2003. Andre 3000’s wildly eclectic half of that release spawned one of the decade’s biggest hits in "Hey Ya," an excellent recent live performance of which at Wireless Festival seeing him joined on stage – bafflingly – by none other than girl group Little Mix, who seemed happy to dance as maniacally as everyone in the huge crowd in front of them. At the same show, a rendition of "Prototype" – which saw Andre, clad in sunglasses and bright white wig, sat with his legs dangling off the edge of the stage attempting to woo every woman in the audience – reminded all in earshot just how influential he’s been on the likes of Drake, Kanye West and Chance The Rapper. As he noted, “back when I wrote that, there weren’t no other rappers who sang.”
