This grammy-award winning band from Los Angeles are fresh, exciting and about to make huge waves in the music world. La Santa Cecilia are fantastic songwriters as well as exhilarating performers. Their wonderfully crafted pop songs are given an inspiring twist through La Santa Cecilia's incorporation of pan-African rhythms such as rhumba, boss nova and tango, whilst being sieved through a gauze of rock, soul, R & B and ska. Their incendiary performance at Moliendo Cafe proved exactly why the band have developed a fanatic fan base; their music is heavy on the groove, full of exotic, captivating dance rhythms and lively melodic breaks from the instrumental accompaniment to Gloria Estrada's terrific voice. TIt is latin-pop that is crying out for you to start moving your feet. It is pretty hard to keep those hips stationary when enjoying La Santa Cecilia's enticing tunes. Having signed to Universal, the band have released their debut album in 2013, "Treinta Dias," which was the record that earned them the Grammy-award for "Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album." Their name is interestingly the patron saint of music, with their success suggesting that someone is certainly looking down upon their music favourably. Their exotic and energetic pop is a joy to listen to and their live performance is equally deserving of attention.
I stumbled across La Santa Cecilia by accident. I was looking for a documentary to watch on Youtube. La Santa Cecilia was one of the 1st one that came up. I clicked on it and fell in love with La Santa Cecilia. Marisol sings from the soul. Love her retro style, which is full of color and it fits her to a T. I was so excited about seeing them. The concert was amazing. I danced to every one and ran up to the stage when she sang one of my favorite songs "Jack"! Took a lot of pictures and videos. Just with they would have came out to take pictures or give autographs. I was able to get a picture with Oso. I would LOVE for them to come to Topeka, Ks for our Mexican Fiesta next year, we have it every July. They would be so WELCOMED!
Thank you for a energetic concert, still HYPED about it!

What a performance, La Santa Cecilia played at the Hollywood Bowl for the LA/LA Pacific Standard Time Art program, they were sandwiched between Mon Laferte and Cafe Tacvba.
They played a great show, that touched on different types of Spanish music and had everyone dancing. Although I wanted them to play their cover of Jose Alfredo, they played their cover of Juan Gabriel's Amor Eterno, which still was fantastic. They played their classics along with new songs from their latest album, and it was amazing. Their live performances are electric, and I feel like the singer emotes more beautiful and truthfully live. The band came in support of DACA and all Dreamers and it really had me teary-eyed. Just a great performance from a great group.
This was the best concert I've been to in years!!!!!
We all had so much fun; all the musicians are superb, and Marisoul has so much charisma, energy, and warmth, besides an absolutely incredible voice, that we could have stayed all night. (and since the four of us are all retired, that's saying a lot!) This band, as far as performance magic, is up there with Bruce Springsteen and the Stones. Can't wait to see them again!
We discovered them at the Cervantino last year, so this was only our second time, but we are now huge fans and will invite more friends next time they come to Mexico City.
Thank you, Santa Cecilia, for bringing so much joy to our lives!
Best band ever!!!!
Super talented musicians
And marisoul, WOW.
HER VOICE!!!!
I've seen them twice, never disappoint,
But venue is soooo small(
No ventilation it was so hot in there.
But well worth it.)
Will go again any time they're in town.
