Cowboy Mouth

As a long time fan of the rock genre, I can safely say that attending Jazz Fest in 2013 to see Cowboy Mouth perform was an experience that was well worth the time and money I put into it.

I first heard of the event when a friend mentioned that he was heading down to New Orleans to Jazz Fest and mentioned Cowboy Mouth when listing off who was playing at the festival. Immediately when I heard their name I felt the urge to go online to ticket master and buy a ticket immediately. The concert was only a week away, so I went on and asked for an advance on my paycheck and used my vacation days to take a trip to New Orleans, to see my favorite band play.

On the day of the festival, the venue was absolutely packed! I found a way to get into the centre, but I really wasn't able to get to the front as there were too many people. Bands started to play and I patiently awaited for the arrival of Cowboy Mouth on stage. When they finally came on, I was absolutely delighted! They played a small handful of songs, but my favorite was "Light It On Fire".

I'm a big Cowboy Mouth fan ... so much that I went out to see them again after catching them in Nashville a little over a year ago. It was total Rock-n-Roll church that time. This time, not so much and not at all due to the band, but rather the sound man. He has a bass fetish. Bass drum. Bass guitar. Bass everything. I could barely make out the vocals. I Love Fred. His showmanship is outstanding. But it's his voice that I've been listening to on my headphones, for miles and miles, on my runs, for years and years. So disappointing to have him buried under his own right bare foot. That sound man has to go. I think he belongs to them. They introduced him. I think his name is Mittens. I wanted to pour my vodka-cran on his board. I'm sorry for this review. I love Cowboy Mouth. And maybe he's a nice guy, but I don't love Mittens' work.

Been going to Cowboy Mouth shows since 1993. After 23 years, the band still is kicking butt. Loved the venue, great sound, not too crowded and a 10 minute drive home. Hope Cowboy Mouth comes back to Austin's Fuel Room again in 2016.

It was actually not the best show they've ever done and yet still better than most any other show I've ever seen. Fred just always finds a way to touch you down deep in your soul

These guys are the most fun and energetic show I've ever been to. You will regret it if you don't go. Also, Fred is the most down to earth personable front man for any band

Was a bit disappointed. Smaller crowd resulted in the band horsing around with partial covers as opposed to playing more of their music of which I am a huge fan.
