The University Musical Society (UMS) out of Ann Arbor (University of Michigan) scheduled Dawn of Midi at a space in Detroit known for being a coffeehouse with GREAT vegetarian dishes and a pension to bring in musicians and groups of musicians (sometime known as bands) into a performance space along side the current art exhibition.
This was perfect for Dawn of Midi! People mingled and looked at the art and publications of the social and political revolution movements around the planet between the mid 60's and late 80's in addition to used recording (45's and LP's) in the attached used rocrding space.
Dawn of Midi came out and played "Dysnomia" from beginning to end to a packed crowd! Lots of head bobbing, and those trying to dance (it was a standing show very little seating)with a crowd that Dawn of Midi had not expected. They commented at the end of the show they weren't sure if anybody would show up in Detroit.
Dawn of Midi gets radio play in Metro Detroit.
Peoples only regret was no encore... even if it was something totally improvised or something they were working on though not finalized but...A Great show!
