Those who are fans of late 90s/early 00s R & B and hip-hop and those lucky enough to have lived through it will know the Washington singer/songwriter Mýa Marie Harrison. Although her commerciality has wavered in the past few years, she earned her place on the circuit with a string of hit singles from 1998 to 2003 so the demand to see these nostalgic tracks is still strong.
Walking confidently onto stage as the lights illuminate her, the crowd cheers wildly as she begins with an early favourite 'Fallen'. The smooth R & B vibes continue all through the evening and the audience go from dancing, swaying to slow jamming through the course of the tracks. There are deafening cheers for 'Lady Marmalade' which is perhaps her most universally well known track as her backing vocalists help fill in for the likes of Pink and Christina. The finale is all about Mya's original work as she performs double hitter 'It's All About Me' and 'Case of the Ex' before leaving to more rapturous applause.
