What can I say, she was amazing as always. This is the 4th time I've seen her since 2000. All of the other concerts had a much bigger band/orchestra. This time it was a large band. This was a mini tour so she didn't have the large orchestra and a small stage. The music was still on point.
In my opinion, she is the best when it comes to interacting with the audience. People shout stuff to her and she does her best to answer them. I love how she tells you stories about the songs she sings.
If you have never seen her live, she does not shy away from politics. She is open about being a Democrat and gets in some good jokes about Trump. So if you are a Trump supporter and can't handle the digs, you might want to tune those parts out.
And on to the most important part of the show, the music. In the first act, she does some songs that my be unfamiliar to many. She seemed to be trying to get her point across about what is going on in the world today by doing songs like The Way We Were, Everything, Being At War With Each Other, You Don't Bring Me FLowers. She did a medley of Woman In Love/No More Tears. Then she did Evergreen, Being Alive, and closed the first act with Papa Can You Hear Me? During intermission, she had a mentalist or mind reader who performed. He was really good. The second act had a mix of the new album that is coming out and some of her hits. She did songs like Pure Imagination, Children Will Listen, Who Can I Turn To (When Nobody Needs Me), How Lucky Can You Get, Losing My Mind, Isn't This Better, Don't Rain On My Parade, People, and Happy Days Are Here Again, With One More Look.
Her voice has changed over they years. In my opinion is like a fine wine, it gets better with age. It is deeper and raspy but it is still wonderful. She puts on a great and entertaining show. If you've never seen her live and it's on your bucket list, GO!! If you're like me and you go every time she comes to town, make sure you GO again!! I don't think there will ever be another Barbra. At least not in this lifetime. If you missed out this time, don't miss out on the next time if you have the chance.
Barbra Streisand is a household name which give much to her esteem and popularity around the world. Ever since the 1960's when she began her music career in New York she had been flung into the limelight with her first album, 'The Barbra Streisand Album,' going Gold. This alone was an impressive accomplishment, but the buck definitely did not stop here. Ever since the start of her singing career she has had 51 Gold Albums and 30 Platinum Albums which are a testament to her extraordinary career. The 72 year old singer still shows that she has what it takes to get the crowds attention following her latest tour: Barbra Live in 2013. This was in fact the one and only time I saw her live on stage at the O2 Arena in London; her presence and her poise, simply left me awestruck. I was not disappointed. Despite how large the O2 Arena is, her powerful voice occupied every corner giving the whole audience a flair of excitement and thrill. I could feel an electric buzz filled the air in anticipating over what her next song of choice will be out of her huge collection. As she sang "No More Tears," a shiver ran down my spine as her tremendous voice altered at the drop of a coin to a soft and delicate vibrato. She was accompanied by a 60-piece orchestra, special acts such as Ryan Molloy from the Jersey Boys and her sister, Roslyn Kind for a fantastic duet. I looked around to see the reactions of others who were equally as stunned as me, noticing swelled up eyes and tears running down their cheeks full of joy. All for this night. Their wait to see Barbra Streisand came true.
Barbra Streisand, is there anything she can't do? The multi-talented, multi-disciplined actress and singer has had a celebrated career within the music industry having released over thirty studio albums and been awarded with a number of Grammy awards. Although touring is not as much of a high priority to Babs these days, whenever she does take to the stage it is guaranteed to be a masterclass in both classic composure as well as diva fabulousness.
There has been no expense spared in terms of production, with thoughtful video interludes introducing the lady herself as well as lavish stage decorations and costumes. The richest thing by far though is Streisand's vocal on the likes of 'The Way He Makes Me Feel' which sounds so wonderful as it manages to fill an entire arena with complete ease. Her accompanying musicians add a luxurious element to her music and Barbra's rapport with the crowd is infectious. The whole room is upstanding by the finale and although the songstress will have attended countless public appearances in her time, she looks genuinely happy to receive this great reaction.
Dear Barbara,
Your performance last night was AMAZING! I loved everything about the show, minus the part when it had to end. You have been a favorite artist of mine for many, many years and it was an honor to see you perform in your home town of Brooklyn. I wish I had the money to buy tickets for both nights. You are a true class act and will forever be a part of my life. Thank you for all the memories you've brought to my life over the years.
Love you!
