Hugh Cornwell has done it all. After the success with the Stranglers a successful solo career.
Last night in an intimate venue in Leeds with a drummer and bass player gave the audience a real treat. His voice has lost none of its unique character & his lyrics are still relevant today. A show of 2 hours with mainly his Monster album in the 1st half warmed the audience. The second half with Stranglers songs had the audience singing along and jumping around with fervour that defied their age. Catch Hugh if you can and you won’t be disappointed
Hugh Cornwell is a living legend, and his show at The Gov in Adelaide did not disappoint. The first set consisted of new tracks from his latest album Monster, really tight and catchy songs which is an LP I will be buying soon! The second set were the old Stranglers favourites, and of course the crowd were more familiar with these which resulted in lots of singing along.
We SO enjoyed the show we are seriously thinking of hopping on a plane and flying to Melbourne to see more of Hugh...please come back to Australia soon!!!!!
We saw Hugh perform at St Pauls Church. First time in an intimate setting for me so a very memorable event. Hugh was very entertaining telling us life story through music. Vocals and playing were an outstanding sound for a live performance with no backup. Hugh made himself available for signings after the performance. I totally recommend anyone who enjoys acoustic guitar to go and watch him play.
Great concert in a super venue. Hugh Cornwell has just got it. If you like live raw music this was it. Managed a great rendition of Golden Brown even without keyboards. His new stuff was great as well.
