I recently attended their performance at the EagleBank venue in Virginia, where they opened for Fall Out Boy and AWOL Nation. I had previously heard a few of their songs ("West End Kids", "Girl Crush"), so I knew about them, but was unsure of what to really expect. Once they performed, I was completely blown out of the water! Their energy and stage presence was absolutely incredible and the music was fantastic and fit well with the other acts! David Boyd's dancing was amazing and the band was energetic as well as exciting to watch. Despite some of the crowd's unfamiliarity with their music, everyone was singing along by the end of their set. The songs were well chosen and packed with a variety of songs, including ones from their new album. New Politics has made me an enormous fan in just a few songs! I can easily see New Politics as a headlining band and look forward to seeing more shows of theirs in the future!
I LOVE New Politics and saw them at Neumous February of 2014. They rocked just as hard last night and their performance was great with many of their new cuts from Vikings. This was, although, the most awkward of bands performing together. The Griswolds were amazing and we didn't expect them there, but it was as if there were two types of fans; rock and roll fans and romantic ballads fans. It was like going to see Barry Manilow open for the Rolling Stones! The most disappointing thing was when screaming my head off for an encore to hear Harlem, Andrew Mcmahon came back on stage to do an encore. Most of his fans had already left! We saw it as more of an egotistical move on his part and left the venue. I hope the next time I have the privilege of seeing New Politics that the other acts ate at least in the same category of music. LOVE YOU GUYS!!!
These guys leave it all on the stage! The first time I saw David Boyd, Søren Hansen, and Louis Vecchio was at The Tabernacle in Atlanta. Since we had never heard of them, we weren't expecting much out of them as an opener. Man what a surprise! The crowd, most of whom had no idea who this band was, rocked out right along with guys in the band. The music is catchy and along with their onstage antics these guys are irresistible! I have seen them multiple times in the past year and they never disappoint. The interaction with a crowd shows just how much they love performing. The now infamous "Boyding" is something to see! Great musicians with infectious energy and passion. Isn't that what you want out of a fantastic concert? Go check out a show. I promise they will do their best to entertain.
When I heard that New Politics was coming to Kansas City with Fall Out Boy, I jumped at the chance to buy tickets. As great as Fall Out Boy is, all I wanted to see was New Politics. They had come to the Kansas City area quite a few times, but I always had class or a test. Finally getting to see New Politics was absolutely amazing! David Boyd brought so much energy to the stage! I loved all of the dancing he did on stage. Not many artists can bring that much energy to the stage while they sing. Usually, dancing brings down the quality of the vocals, but David Boyd kept his vocals in check the whole time. Of course, his drummer and guitarist brought the energy, too, and made the experience incredible! I hope to see them again on their headline tour!
New Politics had a show with the wrecks & dreamers. BEST SHOW EVER!!!!!!!! New politics had energy like no tomrorow! They really are able to connect with the fans at any level. Literally back flipping off drum sets, breakdancing, stepping on fans, making the fans do whatever they wanted... just wow! David told us about his beautiful baby girl. To share what he values the most really just shows how much he loves his fans. The wrecks & dreamers also had energy like no tomorrow. All together, amaze balls! Literally woke up the next days so tired & I thought I left my feet at the venue because I jumped way too much. Literally cried at sorens touch of the piano. Everything just transition & blended beautifully ❤️
Ok so here we go on a roller coaster of words about how amazing this concert was. First off the opening bands were spectacular and probably will get their own tour soon, so good on NP for getting these wonders. Now New Politics, how do I even began to describe? This concert has left my ears ringing from the bad ass music and sheer energy from all the other fans. Also Im hoarse because of all the screaming at the top of my lungs because of the need to praise this weep worthy music. They have an unparalleled stage presence and an awe inspiring appreciation for each and everyone of their fans. I loved this show, I will go to every single one in my area, and I love this band.
I saw New Politics in a music festival, and they played like it was their own concert. The lead singer, David Boyd, was so high energy you were immediately drawn to everything he did. From standing (and singing and dancing) on top of the crowd, to doing back flips, to actually climbing up about 15 feet up the side of the stage, Boyd shows that he is a man of many talents. With their unique stunts, anthematic songs, and incredible talent New Politics apart from any other band I have seen or heard, and is easily one of the best rock bands to see live.
The Wrecks and Dreamers were outstanding warm-ups for New Politics who headlined their first show in the state after opening for 311 over the summer. New Politics played several songs form their latest Lost in Translation album while mixing in many of their hits from previous works. The put on a great show with multiple trips into the pit that reflected both the trust David Boyd has for his fans as well as their interest in interacting with the audience. I would travel for hours to see them again.
New Politics played Big Gig in Denver with 7 other bands. They were definitely a highlight for me! I LOVE THEM. All 3 band members are energetic and engaging and they sound absolutely AMAZING live. I will be seeing them several more times this year and I cannot wait. Love them! Fantastic show, amazing cover of Beastie Boys Sabotage - David Boyd is so charismatic and engaging; yes. One of my favorite bands xo
