A band originally consisting of two brothers but has since expanded since their inception in 2001, The Electric Soft Parade have certainly got a new funky element to their sound. After a two year break in 2008, TESP returned to better than ever in 2010, with their first release since their return – A Quick One EP – still possessing a cool vibe and was a great listen. The band previously had quite a bit of chart success in their early years, their biggest achievement being a Top 25 hit 'Silent To The Dark II'. The boys from Brighton recently played at the Mini Festival in Barcelona with other UK based bands and also some up-and-coming Spanish artists and The Electric Soft Parade enjoyed a very solid performance. The stage certainly reflected the personality of the band as flashing bright graphics came on the screen to accompany the darting multi coloured lights. They performed many of their hits including 'Things I Done', which was a great way to showcase what the band was about, very rhythmic with their instruments and with cheeky solos from guitars and keyboard. Thomas White introduced himself on vocals during the song 'If That's The Case Then I Don't Know' and showed off his Morrissey style tone. The song was a lot more rock 'n' roll and got the crowd very much in the party mood.
It is clear that the band co-operate very well together on stage and it is a joy to watch them perform live, and if you manage to hear a classic guitar or keyboard solo than you will go nuts!
