Opening band was Insurgency who were a favourite with the local Thrash crowd who went suitably crazy especially to the cover of Sodom's Agent Orange.
Preston's Solitary were next up and delivered a solid set including a never before played track for the willing crowd.
The atmosphere was buzzing while Hirax's gear was being set up and the place erupted with the first song 100,000 Strong.
Intense, full-on Thrash riffs courtesy of Lance Harrison, backed by Steve and Mike Vega on bass & drums. Coupled with the awesome voice and enigmatic stage presence of Katon W de Pena, the entire set was a masterclass in how to thrash. Even a guitar head blew, the band weren't phased with Katon making a few jokes with the crowd ("Not even Satan can stop Hirax").
After the set, the band came straight back out and mingled with the remaining fans, really humble and very much appreciative of the support from the UK audience. A great bunch of guys and a truly stunning live band. If you get the chance, you must go see Hirax.
