The Stepkids

As psychedelic soul bands go, The Stepkids are one of the best! A friend of mine had introduced me to their music about 2 years ago, I have been grateful ever since. When they toured last fast, I got us tickets. It was birthday surprise for her. I told her we were going out to dinner, after dinner I surprised her with the concert. She was so excited!

The concert was a low key, indoor show. It was a very, very small venue. There wasn’t a light show or giant speakers, for which I was very thankful. I hate getting blinded and deafened at concerts. The whole crowd was pretty low key and calm before the show, no pushing or shoving.

The band came out dressed quite eclectically. The guitarists had a suit jacket and button up shirt on, the other guitarist had a t-shirt on and the drummer had a flannel shirt on. I chuckled because one looked like he was going to an interview. We listened to them jam, the whole crowd just sat back and took it all in. When they were finished, they thanked everyone for coming and the crowd applauded loudly. It was a great, low key concert. I would love to go again.
