Before Clean Bandit, fusing pop with orchestral exerts were the less aesthetically pleasing German band “Fools Garden” who don’t quite make the virtuosic proportions that are Clean Bandit, however, they do have some pretty mighty hooks throughout their music. Tonight they are due to perform a slew of hits amongst their huge fans, from their eight albums across the last twenty years.
“Innocence” is the opening song, kicking everything off with a mid tempo feel from a string orchestra playing fifth chords. “Rainy Day” and “It Can Happen” are the mid set songs that keep the party going through the medium of this insightful German breed of orchestral indie rock, (if there is such a thing). They are promoting their latest album “Who Is Jo King?” an album that possesses music with a certain depth to it. There is a lot of humour on this album that definitely translates to their adoring fans, who dance along to the whole set with big smiles on their faces. It’s one of those atmospheres!
