Biography
Formed in 2011 as a way of Ty Segall forming a genuine band with the two members of his backing musicians that he's been friends with since high school, Fuzz debuted in January 2013 with the seven-inch single “This Time I Got A Reason”. To hide the fact it was Segall, Moothart and Cosio, the band's label Trouble In Mind claimed that they had “no idea” who the band was made up of in the record's press release, but eagle-eared fans could spot Segall's vocal style from a mile off. By the time footage of the band performing live had spread onto the internet, the secret was out, and Fuzz were now one of the hottest new bands around.
The band recorded their debut album in two days flat in May 2013 with Chris Woodhouse behind the mixing desk, and the record was released the following September. The fact that this band is happening alongside the band's commitments with Segall's solo project show's that this is no mere indie rock side-projet to be thrown aside if his next record is certified Platinum. Fuzz are a true band that are just as deserving of your time and attention as any other band grabbing rave reviews all over the world, and for that, they come highly recommended.

For multi-instrumentalist Ty Segall, musical monogamy just does not appeal. He has performed as part of a number of bands including The Traditional Fools, Epsilons and Party Fowl but his best is without a doubt heavy metal outfit Fuzz. Along with Charles Moothart and Roland Cosio, the trio have been working the circuit since 2013 and through their numerous commitments they have found time to take to the road to promote their debut eponymous album.
Fans of Segall flood the venue along with those who have simply found Fuzz through other means and may not be aware of Ty's work yet they all cheer loudly as the trio appear onstage. There are no touring musicians involved tonight as they would simply be obsolete whilst the group tear about the tracks on their first album and build huge and momentous walls of sound that shake the ground and ripple through the crowd. It is an intense and continually exciting show that demands a large amount of energy from the crowds yet as both fan and performer are zoning out and moshing along to 'What's In My Head' it would seem the whole room is completely invested in this show.
Fuzz at the Gorilla in Manchester was wild, awesome, intense and unbelievably loud. These guys know how to rock hard, it was everything I expected and more.
Ty sets his drumkit up right at the front of the stage so when the gig got roudy with moshers and surfers the people at the front were like the guardians of the drums, steering flailing arms and feet away from the precious kit. Really good fun.
I heartily recommend Fuzz for a night of having your face melted off.
The guitarist uses a Death by Audio Fuzz War pedal.
No, that's all I remember.
Great show. I wish they would have played a longer set, but I still loved it. I brought my friend who has never listened to fuzz before but knew of ty seagull, and he loved it.
We were right in front of the kit for Audacity and Fuzz, and the experience was way worth losing my hearing. I got Ty's drumstick and Audacity's set list.
Yesterday was my birthday and I bought tickets as a birthday present to myself. Im saying that fuzz played my birthday party and that they killed it. Best birthday ever.
