Marty Stuart is a huge name in country music and has been since the late 80s. His music is definitely one of those fantastic crossover blends of music, creating a rockabilly, honky tonk and traditional country sound, that appeals to the masses.
He opens with his huge single “Country Boy Rock and Roll” which immediately gets the audience out of their seats and dancing until the end of the performance. Even for the mid tempo track “Tempted” the audience are in full participation mode, upon their feet and dancing. He closes his first set with his song “Arlene” which was a huge hit for him in 1985, and then is coaxed back onstage by chants of his name to perform an encore. “This One’s Gonna Hurt You” is his final song of the evening. It was also a number 7 hit in the country charts in 1992. It’s good to see that he is still doing what he does best, writing fantastic country music, writing records and touring.
Attended the 10/15/2021 show at the Narrows. Marty came onstage and looked a little tired but that was only an illusion. He and Kenny and Harry and Chris were absolutely fantastic! I don't usually do this but after the show I was so charged that I bought a CD. Their music was power, their music was precision, their music was serious, there music was gentle, there music was genuine! I am a classic country fan and this show pushed all the buttons! I saw them in 2019 here but this show was better. It featured every member, as usual but Chris had more of a presence this time around, and for the good! Everybody knows what Marty is and what he can do but Ken and Harry are Master Class musicians too! Can't wait for the next time around!
I found the show high powered and entertaining. Even the ballads were energized. Marty captured the spirit of many eras of music and presented it with a modern presence. I especially enjoyed Marty's mandolin solo on Orange Blossom Special. That was awesome. I also really enjoyed Kenny Vaughn on the guitar especially when he played the double neck guitar. Chris Scruggs was great on the bass violin and bass guitar and is a very versatile member of the band. Drummer Harry Stinson put down an awesome beat and sings to boot. Their 3 and 4 part harmony really makes for a great sound. I only wish they would have played longer.
My Guy and I went to see him at The Golden Nugget in Mississippi Friday Feb 26,2018. They were awesome this was our first time going to see him. They were incredible. He interacted with the audience and they all know how to play the guitar and other instruments remarkable. We laughed and had a great times The songs were amazing he played a little bit of Country Western the gospel song was touching and El Paso he sang the old ones I remember them well they had people dancing even so love to see that I would recommend to see him and his band they were incredible I would love to see them again enjoyable.
TOO DAMN LOUD!!
We attended Marty Stuart's 7/18/2024 show at Penn's Peak with great anticipation, having really enjoyed Marty and the Fabulous Superlatives here about 3 years ago. But this time the experience was horrific. The music was SO LOUD that it was painful. Instead of being able to savor the distinctive sounds and artistry of this great quartet, the volume mushed their voices and instruments into a fuzzy barrage. We ended up fleeing from our 10th row seats to the back of the hall where the quieter songs were almost bearable. After this assault on our eardrums, we want our money back!
I saw Marty Stuart at the Ramkat on Thursday. What a show! Marty is a master showman and makes you feel that he is performing just for you. He relates with his audience in a very special way. And he’s not concerned with having all the glory for himself. Each of his band members had a solo moment and Marty stepped in the background. He even encouraged the very young performer opening the show. Marty is just super. It is money well spent to see him perform. I’ll do it again when I have the opportunity. Love Marty!!!
Marty is a very good friend of mine I have been knowing Marty since he was a teenager playing with Lester Flat. My best friend and I used to go to Nashville every year and see him when he was married to Cindy Cash. My daughter had a crush on Marty when she was a teenager and sold her horse to buy Marty a necklace with the money. My son used to play a lot with Marty at fiddler conventions. I love Marty very much.He is like a son to me

Love him and his band...they are top notch performers...I just love them!! I've met Marty 2 times and he is the coolest guy!! So talented...down to earth..funny...I cant seem to say enough!! Cannot wait to him again!!!
One of the best shows I've been to in years. Marty has such great talent in his ability to change the tone and pitch of his voice. His band the Superlatves were excellent and the sound was perfect in the amphitheater. Can't wait to see him again. The opening band was a little too rock n roll for me but she had a nice voice. Marty was an awesome all around show.
One of the best live shows I have ever seen, Marty has a way of communicating with the audience as if you were the only one there. His voice has never been better and his back up band and singers were wonderful...It was great night of country, bluegrass, gospel and fun music. I look forward to the next time he is in my area.
