The lights went up to an empty stage, and Paul Jackson ran on stage to a huge applause and sat behind the drum kit, as the rest of the band launched into their track Friends from the wings of the stage, and strolled on playing their instruments, and Callie Noakes make his way to the keys for the chorus. It was an awesome start to the show, as it was totally unexpected, and the whole crowd went crazy for it. About half way through the track, James Kellegher shouted out to the audience, ‘if you know it sing along with me’, which of course had everyone belting out the track at the top of their voices.
The band played predominantly from their newest album, but they revisited tracks from a few years ago between which was great, as we could hear the progression of their style from across the years. Of course I already knew that all of the musicians were super talented, but hearing them live and seeing them play solos was incredible, and the way that they commanded their instruments was something I just didn’t expect at all. From beginning to end, they were totally dedicated to every note, and their enthusiasm was definitely contagious to the crowd.
The show was absolute amazing!!! The two support acts and Eliza and the Bear were all extraordinary and would definitely go and see them again!! Can't wait for next tour!!
Excellent band, played a good variety of there songs. They only played for one hour. An extra 15 minutes would have been better. that was the only thing that spoiled it.
