Jacco Gardner and the band were INCREDIBLE! This was quite probably the best set I've ever seen and I've been actively playing and going to shows for 25 years. The amazing perfomance on behlaf of these guys brought out all the best in every song, which in themselves were already quite good. The rythm section alone could hold my interest for an entire concert. Great stage presence, unpretentious and earnest and very hardworking but also fun.
This is the kind of well-wrriten, well-composed, arranged and unbeliveably well played performance that makes most of what passes for shows in New York (and in most places) feel like absolute rubbish.
I'm still blown away and thrilled by last night's set!
Wow! The most intimate gig I've ever experienced. Firstly the support act whom I can't find the name of anywhere played some beautiful music, including Love, King Crimson and The Beatles covers, all from a floor-stage in the middle of the room. This is where Jacco took to the 'stage' as well, playing his synth-based new album Somnium whilst the audience gathered round. This is a different live music experience, and I connected with the music in a way that I hadn't on first listen of the album. Jacco stayed round afterwards to sign and chat with people, which I always love. Lovely man, lovely music, lovely night.
