Begonia

Thought I was going to have to drive to NYC or Hamilton, Ont. to catch Begonia perform. Then the stars aligned and Songkick spit out an announcement that Begonia would be at The Haymarket Lounge. Excellent.

Take all the great aspects of the songs you may have streamed -- fabulous vocal styling, heartfelt lyrics, superb accompaniment -- and add on unaffected humor, positive energy, sincere engagement with the audience. Together they make a Monday night show feel like the weekend.

Hoping they come back to Boston soon.

-- p.s. Still tempted to check out the Liquid Arts Festival. Begonia and beer, sounds like a great way to kick off the summer.

Saw her on Sunday January 26th at the Palomino Steakhouse in Calgary. This show was ethereal and moving. All the beats, all the feels, all the sparkle. A must see live show.
