Biography
Many podcasts and radio stations are now dedicated to rekindling young people’s interest in traditional music.
Grupo Firme is at the forefront of this new trend, marrying the conventional sounds of regional Mexican music with the party energy of more contemporary artists. The result is a vivid and high-energy entertainment experience that resonates with young fans.
Grupo Firme is known for its lively and colorful onstage performances. One of its tours featured folclórico dancers and plenty of mariachi music. It has drawn comparisons to Carin Leon, Los Dos Carnales, Banda Los Recoditos, and La Adictiva Banda San Joe de Mesillas.
Original band members Jairo Corrales and Eduin Cazares started the band as a duo before adding additional members: Jhonny Cazares, Christian Téllez, Joaquín Ruiz, Dylan Camacho, and José “Fito” Rubio. After working in the studio for several years, the group released its first studio album, Pasado, Presente, Futuro in 2017.
Pasado, Presente, Futuro wasn’t a major financial success, but several of its tracks did garner the band a lot of fan attention. Bolstered by the fan response, the group returned to the studio to create its sophomore album, El Barco, which was quickly followed by the band’s third album, En Vivo desde Tijuana: Los Buitrones y Los Firmes.
The group found its big breakthrough in 2020 after releasing the songs “Juro Por Dios,” “Pídeme,” and “El Roto.” All three songs won critical and commercial successes for the band. Following the success of hit songs, the band set out on a massive North American tour dubbed Enfiestados y Amanecidos. While on tour, the band recorded its next album, En Vivo desde Medellín, Colombia.
The band saw further success in 2021 with its single “Ya Superame.” The song peaked at 91 on Billboard Hot 100, securing the group’s place as a regional music phenomenon. The band is poised to continue its rise and may become one of the most successful Mexican bands in the U.S.
Grupe Firme officially signed a contract with Music VIP Entertainment in 2021 to bring its eclectic, high-energy music to a larger audience with more support.
Since these humble beginnings in 2014, the band has won a Latin Grammy award for Nos Divertimos Lo Grando Lo Imposible and five Premio Lo Nuestro awards. Additionally, the band was nominated for a large number of additional music awards, including Premios Juventud.
The band’s current 2022 tour is promoting the band’s new musical material. Dedicated fans should keep an eye on the band’s official social media accounts for updates on Grupo Firme tour dates, cities, and tickets.
The group has promised fans that the next studio album will be packed with the explosive sound the band is famous for, plus plenty of fun surprises. The band has been hinting at the inclusion of more mariachi-style music and its signature Banda and Norteño influences.
Fans eagerly anticipate the band’s next album, which has not been officially announced.
