Live reviews
The Quireboys have been a band for the last thirty years, reaching some significant chart success over the years, especially with their debut album “A Bit of What You Fancy” which reached number 2 in the UK charts. They developed a reputation as Britains answer to Poison, which is a claim that I don’t quite understand but hey. It’s all about the live show for these guys and you can see it on their faces as they walk out on stage this evening to the most adoring applause tonight. Their vocalist, Jonathan Grey, also known as Spike to fans of the band, commands the crowd with a lot of authority engaging them in sing alongs and really making this evening work as a party atmosphere of sorts. Tonight they are promoting their latest album “Black Eyed Sons” but still perform a lot of their earlier hits that really made a name for them back in the 80s with songs such as “Mayfair” and “7 O’Clock”. The musicality of this band is still fantastic, demonstrating great virtuosity in their playing and the delivery.
Awesome, awesome, awesome. Brilliant bad, fantastic live and on top form. First time I've seen them, it won't be the last. Compact venue but decent bar with some good beer and not bad views.
Nice atmosphere, a feeling of a concert just for you and the guys were really nice. Perfect sound. Didn't miss all the electronic aid at all. can highly recommend this concert
Words don't do it justice! This was outstanding!! I'm just annoyed I can't afford to go to all of the remaining unplugged shows. Waiting with bated breath for the next tour.
Once again the Quireboys delivered another great gig looking forward to see them again in Sheffield in April if you haven't seen them live before they are well worth seeing
