My son and I saw JPNSGRLS open for the Heavy at Oran Mor back in May and they very nearly stole the show.
So when they announced a UK tour fir their 2nd album we were always going to go. The 1st problem we had was the Glasgow date was the same night we had tickets to see another band on further investigating the Glasgow date was an over 18s affair and my son is only 15. So where else could we go? Leeds was the closest and we booked the tickets.
From the opening chords of Oh my God we were hooked. The band raced through new songs and old a like with an energy that was infectious.
From the Divorce album Trojan Horse, A comprehensive list of things I love and Bully for you were personal highlights.
Brandon and Tiger were both stand out tracks from the first album.
There was the slight blemish on the night was the passing of Lamar, support bands Fizzy Blood's mascot rescued from the Czech Republic who was fatally injured in a Charlie Kerr related incident. Drummer Graham Serl disappeared only to return with a t-shirt with the message RIP LAMAR in marker pen.
Utterly entertaining night.
Met the band afterwards and a really nice bunch of guys and wish them all the success in the world. Woukd gladly travel the length or breadth of Britain to see them play live again.
Absolutely fantastic concert! Their life performance and stage presence were absolutely top-tier, could not recommend more. I had the opportunity to take pictures with and talk to some of the members after the concert and they were all such wonderful people
