Xylo Aria’s first release of 2016, Paradigm, intriguingly combines modern experimental elements with Indian Carnatic inspired melodies to create a truly unique listening experience. Mastered by Grammy nominated engineer Andrei Eremin, who has worked with the likes of Chet Faker and Haitus Kaiyote, Paradigm truly encapsulates the essence of this emerging artist.
Xylo Aria has teamed up with Melbourne based director Adam Trad and Cannes Film Festival Prize winning Kas Kalami to create a dark and at times, visually deceiving video which perfectly complements the lyrical themes of the track. The video will be premiered in the midst of her set at the musical oasis that is Melbourne’s Howler Bar.
Be prepared to enter a world of ambient melodies and experimental sounds which are intriguingly interjected by short stanzas of traditional, Indian Carnatic music from her childhood which helped shape the musician she is today.
The free event will also feature dancers from Melbourne’s iconic Dance National Academy. Choreographed by work class dancer, Brittany Flask who has toured with artists such as Mya and Timmy Trumpet, this little jewel of a gig is sure to transform a mundane Thursday evening into a truly extraordinary one.
