In the winter of our discontent, everyone's looking for something... something to give them a little bit more life, a reason to step outside into the street where the air is so cruel, so cold, so bitter... something to give them a reason to live, to love, to lust... something to give them a reason to believe.

At some point over the last two years, the bands on this bill have brought the heat, juiced me up when I was running on empty, put a hop in my step and a bounce in my gait. Time and time again, they've affirmed and reaffirmed my ever wavering faith in the redemptive and transformative power of music. And, have we ever been in more dire need of that power than now? What with the ominous clouds and rolling thunder, the black sheets of rain, the grotesque pig show that is global politics (unfolding live on Reality TV!), local sporting teams displaying various levels of depressing ineptitude, and, above all else, Harry Styles commanding critical respect?

Strange days indeed. But, when these bands put on a show, the outside world becomes mere periphery. Their shows become events you remember for your whole life - like your first real orgasm. And isn't that the whole purpose of this absurd and mechanically persistent obsession with music the pursuit of that priceless moment?

So, let us pursue this moment in a little shack on the edge of the wilderness while we're waiting on the end because the only currency we have left in this bankrupt world is these moments that we share when we're uncool. Anyway, it's Sunday, what else are you gonna do?
